Mentera showcases commitment to Welsh agriculture at Royal Welsh Winter Fair

Mentera, a leading not-for-profit company supporting Welsh businesses, will be showing its support for the rural sector at the upcoming Royal Welsh Winter Fair (25 – 26 November 2024). Through showcasing its various programmes that it runs on behalf of the Welsh Government, Mentera will be offering valuable resources, engaging events, and a platform for new food and drink businesses to shine.

Our presence at the Winter Fair reflects our dedication to providing farmers and food producers with the tools and support they need to thrive.”

Mentera programmes featuring at the event:

  • Farming Connect: Farming Connect will have a stand on the balcony above the cattle ring, and will be hosting an Agri Academy Reception Monday 25 November at 10:30am and an ‘Our Farms’ reception on Monday at 12:30 (invitation only).
  • Wales Farm Safety Partnership: The Wales Farm Safety Partnership (WFSP) will launch the second book in their 'Nice one Bob' series on Tuesday 26 November at 10:30. This event aims to engage young people with farm safety through a fun and educational character, 'Bob the Sheepdog'. By targeting children, the WFSP hopes to influence future generations of farmers and promote safer practices on Welsh farms.
  • Cywain: The future of Welsh food and drink will be showcased through dedicated test trading stands at the Food Hall featuring the best new businesses.
  • Arwain DGC: Visitors can connect with Arwain DGC representatives on the balcony above the cattle ring for expert advice and guidance on reducing antimicrobial use within the agricultural sector.
  • Food & Drink Skills Wales: This program will launch a new educational pack at the Hybu Cig Cymru stand on Monday at 11:00 AM.
