Llŷr Roberts, CEO of Mentera, stated:
"The Royal Welsh Show is an incredible platform to showcase and celebrate Wales' rural economy. We are here to connect with businesses, offer our expertise, and highlight the value of the Welsh Government programmes we deliver, from agricultural guidance to advice for food and drink producers in helping businesses grow and thrive.”
Attendees at the Royal Welsh Show will have multiple opportunities to engage with a range of Welsh Government programmes delivered by Mentera. Farming Connect, which provides guidance, training, and research to Welsh farmers, will have advisors, trainers, and mentors available at its stand throughout the week. Arwain DGC, focusing on Responsible Antimicrobial Use, will also have a presence in the Young Farmers' Club (YFC) area throughout the week.
Welsh food and drink producers will benefit from the Food & Drink Wales Cywain programme with specialist support provided at a Test Trading stand in the Food Hall, showcasing 16 up and coming food and drink producers over four days. On the first floor of the food hall, the Food & Drink Wales Business Lounge and Showcase has been organised by the Welsh Government and delivered by Mentera. The Business Lounge provides a product showcase for over 300 food and drink producers to connect with invited commercial buyers. Additionally, the Food & Drink Skills Wales programme will facilitate a Business Lounge Study Tour offering young people valuable insight into the commercial world, providing networking and connection opportunities with producers and buyers.
Mentera’s aim is to create a prosperous economy for Wales, driven by thriving businesses that confidently stand alongside the world’s best. The success of these businesses is expected to lead to sustainable economic growth, raise living standards, create more cohesive communities, and protect the environment.
